The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee

Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Street Party

The nation is gearing up to celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee to mark her Majesty’s 70 years of service to her country. We are planning to celebrate the Jubilee in school on Friday 27th May, the last day before half term.

We will be having an outdoor (or indoor if the weather is awful!) street party for all the children in the afternoon.  The children will be playing games, and will have party food to celebrate the Jubilee together.

We will be asking the children to wear red, white and blue for the whole day. They can also bring flags, or wear Union Jacks if they would like to.

Can you help on the day?

To enable us to make the day a special event for all the children, we would really appreciate your support.

  • In the morning, we need some volunteers who could help us to decorate the playground and help to set up the tables for our street party.
  • In the afternoon, we need some volunteers who could help us to set up the food and help us to wash up!
  • At the end of the event, we need some volunteers to help us to put away the tables and benches.

If you are able to volunteer to help on the day, please click here to let us know, and we will be in touch very soon. https://forms.office.com/r/YdxRwCuB4g

Party Food and Drinks

We also really need everyone to help contribute to providing food for the event. Your child’s class teacher will be sending out a list of party food, and we would be grateful if you could sign up to provide food and drinks for the party.

On the day, children will be able to choose from the variety of food we have donated. However, if your child has an allergy, please can you provide suitable plate of party food for your child as we cannot guarantee food is free from allergens. Please speak to your child’s class teacher if necessary.

We will not be having sandwiches etc, as the children will have had an early school dinner on that day. Instead, we would appreciate donations of buffet style finger party food such as:

  • cocktail sausages
  • sausage rolls
  • bread sticks (or similar)
  • crisps
  • vegetable sticks and dips
  • cheese straws
  • mini cucumbers
  • popcorn
  • biscuits
  • cup cakes
  • cake bars
  • oat bars
  • flapjacks
  • fruit chunks
  • fruit skewers
  • rice cakes
  • orange/blackcurrant squash

Please help us to return plates and containers by making sure your child’s name is on them if you would like them back.

Thank you so much for your support – hopefully we can make the day very special for the children.
